The Silver Ferns, New Zealand’s national netball team, have decided to keep Dame Noeline Taurua as head coach and Debbie Fuller as assistant coach.

Both coaches had to reapply for their roles after the team finished fourth at last year’s World Cup in Cape Town.

Dame Noeline was reappointed in April, and today, Netball New Zealand announced that Debbie Fuller would continue as the assistant coach. The organisation conducted a thorough recruitment process, attracting many qualified candidates.

Stephen Hotter, Head of High Performance, stated that Fuller’s vision for the team’s future and her alignment with their strategic objectives made her the best choice.

“Debbie stood out with her exceptional coaching credentials and her understanding of what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of netball,” he said.

Fuller expressed her excitement about continuing in her role. “I am thrilled to work with the squad,” she said. “We have some high-quality athletes who are eager to take the game to a new level of dynamic play. It’s challenging, fun, and always a privilege to help our Silver Ferns explore what they can do with the game.”

Additionally, a specialist coach is set to be appointed later this month. The names of the Silver Ferns trialists will be announced next week after the ANZ Premiership concludes.
