New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox achieved an emotional victory at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in England.

Despite suffering a triple bogey at the third hole in the final round, Fox rallied with eight birdies to finish one shot ahead on 18 under par. This win marked a significant achievement for Fox, as he had never managed a top-10 finish at the Wentworth event before. He is also the first New Zealander to win the tournament.

Fox’s victory was especially meaningful given the personal challenges he and his family had faced over the past year. He dedicated the win to his family and mentioned that they had experienced a tough year, including the loss of his father-in-law to cancer.

With this win, Fox moved up to third place in the World Tour (European) rankings and set his sights on the World Tour Championship in Dubai in November.
