New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Chris Hipkins, recently spilled the beans, or should we say sausage rolls, during a media conference.
He confessed that since becoming Prime Minister, he’s gained about five kilos and he believes a whopping four kilos of that is thanks to his sausage roll obsession.
It seems Hipkins’ fondness for sausage rolls is no secret. Just a few weeks ago, during a royal visit, King Charles himself gifted the Prime Minister a tray of piping hot sausage rolls. Hipkins couldn’t resist diving into the savory treat and proclaimed them to be “exceptionally good.”
But that’s not all! During the same trip, Hipkins crossed paths with Rishi Sunak, the UK’s counterpart. And guess what? Sunak had a surprise waiting for Hipkins—a platter of more sausage rolls! It was like a flaky pastry party. In return, Hipkins brought along Wattie’s tomato sauce to complete the sausage roll extravaganza. Talk about a snack exchange!
So, whether it’s royal gifts, international encounters, or birthday surprises, it’s clear that sausage rolls hold a special spot in Hipkins’ culinary adventures. Who can blame him? With their flaky crusts and mouthwatering fillings, sausage rolls are a snack sensation that many can’t resist.
Yum I like sausage rolls.
