Ko wins first title of 2014

April 29, 2014

New Zealand golfer Lydia Kohas won the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in California.

It is Ko’s sixth tournament victory and second as a professional.

The 17-year-old held a one shot lead going into the last hole and then sunk a 5 foot birdie putt to claim the victory.

Ko was second going into the final day behind tournament leader Stacy Lewis.

Ko takes home just over $300,000 for the victory. Not a bad 17th birthday present – as it was her birthday on the first day of the tournament.

Ko will move up two spots to No. 2 in the next world ranking.
