Joseph Parker to Fight for World Title

Joseph Parker, a former world champion, will fight for a heavyweight boxing crown again nearly ten years after losing his title.

On February 22, Parker will challenge Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The match will take place as part of an event called The Last Crescendo, headlined by Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed world light heavyweight championship.

Dubois, who shocked the boxing world with a knockout victory over Anthony Joshua in September, became the IBF champion after that bout. With Joshua declining an expected rematch, Parker was named the next challenger. Parker, now 35-3, announced the fight on social media, adding the confident caption, “and new.”

Parker’s career highlights include winning the WBO world title in 2016 against Andy Ruiz Jr. in Auckland. Meanwhile, Dubois, 22-2, is known for his power and resilience. Both boxers are respected for their focus on action in the ring rather than trash talk outside of it. Fans eagerly await their showdown in Saudi Arabia, a country growing as a global boxing destination.
