The Ivory Coast cricket team set an unwanted record in men’s Twenty20 internationals by being bowled out for just seven runs.

This happened during an African T20 World Cup qualifying match in Lagos, Nigeria, on November 25, 2024. They were chasing a massive 272-run target set by Nigeria, who had scored 271-4 thanks to Selim Salau’s impressive 112 runs from 53 balls.

The Ivory Coast’s innings lasted only 7.3 overs. Their highest scorer, opener Ouattara Mohamed, managed four runs, while seven batters were dismissed for zero. The other three players scored just one run each. A humorous moment came when their captain, Dosso Issiaka, was run out in a mix-up.

This marked the first time in men’s T20 cricket history that a team recorded a single-digit total. The previous record low was 10 runs, achieved twice in recent years by Mongolia against Singapore and the Isle of Man against Spain.
