Sky’s channels, including its free-to-air Sky Open, reported that 57 percent of Kiwis followed the Games, with high viewership for specific events featuring New Zealand athletes. Highlights included Hayden Wilde’s silver medal in the men’s triathlon, Lydia Ko’s gold in women’s golf, and the women’s pole vault qualifiers.

The most-watched sports were athletics, rowing, swimming, canoe sprinting, artistic gymnastics, and golf. Sky’s chief content officer, Jonny Errington, expressed pride in how the Olympics brought the country together to support their athletes.

Sky’s extensive coverage included 82 live reports and 170 pre-recorded previews and recaps, along with exclusive interviews that resonated with viewers. On average, 1.4 million viewers tuned in daily, with strong activity on Sky Sport Now and Sky Go.
