Kevin Durant, the basketball superstar from the Phoenix Suns, has just signed a “lifetime contract” with sportswear company Nike. This puts him in the same league as other famous basketball players like Michael Jordan and LeBron James, who also have lifetime deals with the company.

Durant has been with Nike since he first started playing in the NBA in 2007, and has already released 15 different pairs of basketball sneakers. He’s won the Rookie of the Year award, and has been named an All-Star 13 times. He’s also won the NBA championship twice!

“I couldn’t have dreamed of how far we’d go in this partnership,” Durant said in a statement. “We’ve done amazing work creatively and philanthropically. We’ve traveled the world together and built a business that will now last forever. I’m excited for the future and honored to be in rare company with this deal.”

Durant and Nike have also been working together to support grassroots basketball. Through the Durant Family Foundation, Nike has helped to refurbish basketball courts in communities all around the world.

“We look forward to continuing to serve the next generation of athletes together,” said Nike’s executive vice president of global sports marketing John Slusher.

Durant’s Suns have made it to the Western Conference semi-finals, where they will be facing the Denver Nuggets. We can’t wait to see what he’ll do next on the court, with the support of his lifetime deal with Nike!
