Breakers win first game of semi-finals

The New Zealand Breakers have won the first game of their semi-final series against the Tasmania JackJumpers.

The Breakers won the game 88-68 in front of a packed house in Auckland.

The Breakers came out on fire to lead 12-2 early and really put the JackJumpers on the back foot. The Breakers retained that lead until early in the 4th quarter when they managed to get back within eight points. However, the Breakers then went on to score 15 of the next 19 points to secure the eventual 20-point win.

Dererk Pardon finished with 15 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots for New Zealand with Will McDowell-White contributing 13 points, seven assists, and six boards.

Barry Brown Jr added 11 points, Rayan Rupert 10 points and five rebounds, Jarrell Brantley eight points, five boards, and three assists, and Tom Abercrombie eight points and three rebounds.

Game two is in Hobart on Thursday.
