Black Caps beat South Africa to level series

March 3, 2017

The Black Caps have produced a superb batting performance to beat South Africa by 6 wickets in Hamilton.

Lead by a superb 134 by Martin Guptill the Black caps chased down the 280 needed for victory with 7 balls to spare.

The results means the series is ties at 2-2 with one game to play. That game is at Eden Park on Saturday.

South Africa batted first on a slow Hamilton pitched and good bowling from New Zealand restricted them well in the first 45 overs. However, captain A B de Villiers was superb in the final 5 overs as they scored over 70 runs to lift them to 279.

In reply the black Caps were always ahead of the run rate and with Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor leading the charge they always had the chase under control.
