Australia claimed a thrilling victory in the SailGP event held in Auckland, New Zealand, led by their experienced captain, Tom Slingsby.

The Australian team, three-time champions, dominated the final race, while New Zealand’s home team, the Black Foils, failed to qualify for the final and finished fifth overall.

Despite strong efforts, the Kiwis struggled in windy conditions, missing a top-three spot by just one point after the first day. On the second day, they placed second in one race but lagged too far behind to secure a spot in the final.

The Australians displayed remarkable consistency, winning the first race of day two and locking their place in the final alongside Great Britain. The last spot was fiercely contested between New Zealand, Spain, Italy, and Denmark. The Danes won two races but fell short, while Spain clinched the third and final place in the finale.

The Australian team’s steady performance proved unbeatable, adding another championship win to their impressive record.
