Analysis by a leave management software provider has found that August 24th sees the highest number of sick leave absences in the United States. This date surpasses even the peak of the cold and flu season.

The second “sickest day” was February 13, right after Super Bowl LVII for the 2022 season.

February was identified as the “sickest” month over the past five years, with stomach bugs being the primary reason for employee sick leave. On average, businesses experienced about 10% of their workforce taking sick leave in February.
