AIMS Games open with a stunning ceremony

The 16th Anchor AIMS Games have opened in Tauranga with a stunning opening ceremony.

The AIMS Games has attracted 11,500 students from 368 schools from throughout NZ, Asia and the Pacific.

Running for 6 days, the AIMS Games gives Year 7 and 8 students an opportunity to compete against the best of their age in New Zealand and invited countries.

The aim of the event is to provide opportunities for students to be active, enjoy the competition and celebrate fair play.

In 2019 there are 23 sports codes offered for students.
