The 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season has culminated with the top eight teams advancing to the quarter-finals, set to take place next weekend.
In a huge surprise, the Crusaders have failed to make the finals. That means they have not reached the play-offs for the first time since 2015. The Christchurch-based team have won seven Super Rugby titles in a row between 2017 and 2023 under the guidance of former head coach Scott Robertson, who has subsequently moved on to take over the coaching reins at the All Blacks.
The 2024 quarter-finals will kick off on Friday, 7 June, with the Chiefs facing the Queensland Reds at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton. This match is a rematch of the 2023 quarter-finals, which the Chiefs won 29-20.
On Saturday, 8 June, the action continues with the table-topping Hurricanes taking on the Rebels at Sky Stadium in Wellington. Notably, this is the Rebels’ first appearance in the finals in the history of the club.
Later that day, the Blues will go head-to-head with the Fijian Drua at Eden Park in Auckland. The Fijian Drua forced their way into the top eight with a crucial win over the Rebels in the final round.
The weekend’s final match will see the ACT Brumbies battling the Highlanders at GIO Stadium in Canberra.
