Ireland have clinched their second consecutive Six Nations championship, narrowly defeating Scotland 17-13.

The game was tense, with Scotland putting up a strong fight. Ireland managed to break through Scotland’s defence with about 15 minutes left, leading 17-6 after scoring their second try. The stadium, filled with fans, began to relax, but Scotland wasn’t done yet. A fantastic try by Scotland’s Huw Jones made the score 17-13, bringing the Scots within striking distance with just three minutes to go.

However, Ireland kept cool under pressure. Even with a player short after Harry Byrne was sent off, they expertly controlled the game, keeping the Scots on their side of the field until the final whistle.

This victory was especially sweet for Ireland, coming after a tough loss to England the previous week, which dashed their hopes for back-to-back Grand Slams. But with this win, Ireland secured its top spot and celebrated another Six Nations title.

Scotland, having lost to Italy in their previous match, came to Dublin hoping for a chance at the title, despite long odds. They had not beaten Ireland since 2017 and had not won at Lansdowne Road since 1998. Early in the game, Scotland showed dominance but struggled to score, while Ireland gradually took control, putting intense pressure on the Scottish defence.
