Indian Woman Sets Guinness World Record for Most Teeth

In a unique achievement, 26-year-old Kalpana Balan from India has secured a Guinness World Record for having the most teeth in a person’s mouth (female) — a total of 38 teeth. Balan possesses six more teeth than the average adult, with four extra mandibular teeth on her lower jaw and two extra maxillary teeth on her upper jaw.

These additional teeth are classified as supernumerary teeth, and they began growing when Balan was a teenager. Initially planning to have them removed, dentists advised her to wait until they fully emerged. Balan, experiencing no pain or discomfort, decided not to undergo removal.

Remarkably, there’s potential for her record to increase in the future, as two more teeth are yet to emerge. This extraordinary dental condition has earned her a place in the Guinness World Records.
