Australian surfer Laura Enever, 31, has made history by breaking the record for the largest paddle-in wave surfed by a woman.

On January 22, she surfed a massive 43.6-foot (13.3-meter) wave at Outer Reef on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, setting a new Guinness World Record.

Enever described the wave as “a gift” and highlighted the perfect spot she found in the lineup.

The previous record was surpassed by just a foot. Enever shared her experience, noting that she felt the wave pick her up, and when she looked down the face, she realized it was a significant challenge.
