Charles Martinet, who has been the iconic voice behind characters like Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi for 27 years in various Nintendo games, is retiring.

Nintendo announced this news on social media, noting that Martinet will step back from voicing these beloved characters.

Chris Pratt voiced Mario in the 2023 movie, while Martinet lent his voice to other roles.

Despite the retirement, Martinet will continue to work with Nintendo as a “Mario-ambassador,” sharing the joy of Mario and continuing to greet people with his famous “It’s a me, Mario” catchphrase.
