Tennis ball sized hail stones hit Italy

A hailstorm in northern Italy has injured at least 110 people and caused widespread damage. The storm, which hit the Veneto region on Wednesday, produced hailstones as large as tennis balls.

The hailstones caused significant damage to cars, homes, and businesses. They also injured several people.

The storm also caused power outages and flooding in some areas. Emergency crews are working to assess the damage and provide assistance to those affected.

The hailstorm is the latest in a series of extreme weather events that have hit Europe in recent weeks. In June, a heatwave killed dozens of people in Spain and France. And in July, flooding caused by heavy rains killed at least 18 people in Germany and Belgium.

Experts say that climate change is making extreme weather events more likely. As the planet warms, the atmosphere can hold more water vapour, which can lead to heavier rains and more intense storms.
