Icon of the Seas is set to become the world’s largest cruise ship, with impressive dimensions and features.

Measuring 365 meters long and weighing 250,800 tonnes, it has 20 decks and a capacity for up to 10,000 people, including 7,600 passengers.

The ship offers a range of exciting amenities, including six slides, seven pools, nine whirlpools, and even the tallest waterfall at sea.  Additionally, it features a park with trees, adding a unique touch to the onboard experience.

In addition to its impressive water-related attractions, Icon of the Seas offers an array of dining options with over 20 venues and more than 15 bars and nightlife experiences spread across its eight distinct neighborhoods. Passengers can enjoy a variety of activities such as rock climbing on the ship’s wall, exploring Royal Caribbean’s first food hall, riding a beach-themed carousel, playing in the arcade, and trying their hand at mini-golf. The vessel spans 19 floors and can accommodate up to 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew members.

As the ship undergoes sea trials, photos and videos have surfaced on social media, sparking mixed reactions. While some viewers express awe at its size and amenities, others have voiced concerns and described it as a “monstrosity” or a “nightmare.”

The Icon of the Seas is expected to embark on its maiden voyage in January 2024, sailing through Caribbean waters from the Port of Miami.
