King Charles III has participated in his first Trooping the Colour ceremony since ascending to the throne. The event, held in honor of the King’s official birthday, saw a joyful gathering of royals, including Prince Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

To celebrate their grandfather’s special day, the young princes and princess joined other members of the royal family to witness a spectacular flypast. In a delightful surprise, airplanes formed the King’s initials, CR, in the sky as a tribute. The display captivated the thousands of spectators gathered at Horse Guard’s Parade and along the Mall in London.

The Trooping the Colour ceremony, a highlight in the royal calendar, featured an extended military flypast this year. The initial display, scheduled for the King’s coronation day, had to be scaled down due to inclement weather. However, the wait was worth it as approximately 70 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force showcased their impressive formations. Among them were historic planes from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the C-130 Hercules making its final ceremonial flight, and modern Typhoon fighter jets. The grand finale came with a magnificent display of red, white, and blue from the renowned Red Arrows.
