New Zealand Post has suspended mail services to 34 countries without warning.

Another 21 countries have also halted mail deliveries to New Zealand. This means that New Zealand mail is not being delivered to or from around one quarter of all nations.

The list of affected countries includes conflict zones and places where air travel was halted during the pandemic. Global trade has resumed, but mail services remain suspended.

New Zealand Post is reviewing the suspensions but hasn’t set a timeline for resuming services.

Amnesty International is also affected, with letters being returned or delayed. Efforts are being made to restore mail services.
