Kenya’s amazing athlete, Faith Kipyegon, made history at the Diamond League meeting in Florence last week.

She broke the women’s 1500 meters world record by running an incredible time of 3 minutes and 49.11 seconds. This surpassed the previous record set by Ethiopia’s Genzebe Dibaba in 2015.

Faith Kipyegon is a superstar in the world of running. She has won the gold medal in the 1500 meters at the last two Olympic Games and also secured the world titles in 2017 and 2022.

Her world record is even more remarkable because she already had one of the top three fastest times in history. Last August, she ran her previous best time of 3 minutes and 50.37 seconds. Now, she holds both the first and third fastest times ever recorded in the women’s 1500 meters.
