An Australian strongman set a new Guinness World Record by spinning a Ferris wheel around with his bare hands! Troy Conley-Magnusson, 39, spun the wheel for 16 minutes and 55 seconds, which is much faster than the previous record of 30 minutes.
Conley-Magnusson did this amazing feat to raise money for the charity Little Wings, which helps seriously ill children and their families. He dedicated his attempt to the memory of an 11-year-old boy named Zac, who died last year.
“Zac was the strongest 11-year-old I’d ever met,” Conley-Magnusson said. “He was my absolute hero. This record is dedicated to his memory and strength, which far outweighs mine.”
The Ferris wheel that Conley-Magnusson spun was very heavy. It had 24 cars, each weighing at least 1,543 pounds. The total weight of the structure was at least 99,208 pounds.
Conley-Magnusson had to work very hard to spin the Ferris wheel. He said it was one of the hardest physical and mental challenges he’s ever faced. But he was determined to succeed, and he did!
