Air New Zealand is about to make flying economy class a lot more comfortable. The airline is introducing Skynest, a new sleeping pod concept for economy passengers.

Skynest will be available on select long-haul flights, including the 17-hour direct flight between New York City and Auckland. The pods will be located between the economy and premium economy cabins.

Each Skynest will sleep one person and will be equipped with a pillow, blanket, sheets, USB charging ports, a reading light, and earplugs. There will also be a seatbelt to ensure that passengers are safe during the flight.

Passengers will be able to pre-book a slot in the Skynest for a four-hour block. The cost will be between NZ$400-$600 (US$254-$380) in addition to the regular cost of their ticket.

Air New Zealand says that the Skynest is designed to give economy passengers a chance to get a good night’s sleep on long-haul flights. The airline says that it did a lot of research on sleep cycles and found that a four-hour sleep session is the perfect amount of time for most people to get a good night’s rest.

The Skynest is a great new option for economy passengers who want to get a good night’s sleep on long-haul flights. It is a comfortable and affordable way to get some rest and relaxation during your travels.
