Exciting news for rugby fans! New Zealand will be hosting the first-ever women’s top six rugby series in October. The tournament will feature the six best teams from WXV1, which is the top tier of World Rugby’s new global initiative to boost the competitiveness and reach of women’s rugby.

England, France, and Wales will join the top three teams from the Pacific Four Series in a nine-test series. The tournament will take place concurrently with the men’s Rugby World Cup. While this means that some fans may have to choose between watching the men’s and women’s teams play, the games will be scheduled so that they won’t overlap.

New Zealand Rugby’s head of professional rugby, Chris Lendrum, is excited about the opportunity to showcase the women’s game. He believes that the tournament will help build momentum after the successful 2022 Rugby World Cup.

Lendrum also pointed out that the women’s game attracts non-traditional rugby fans. So, even if you’ve never watched rugby before, this tournament might be a great opportunity to see some amazing athletes in action!
