3D printed rocket fails first test

Relativity Space has made history by launching the world’s first 3D printed rocket, named Terran 1.

The rocket is 33 meters tall, and 85% of it was made using the world’s largest 3D printer.

On March 22, the rocket took off in Florida, but unfortunately, it failed to reach orbit. The second stage of the rocket should have taken over to complete the journey, but it died after a few flickers.

Despite the failure, the launch is still a significant milestone in the field of rocket technology. The rocket’s construction method was durable enough to survive the blast-off, which proved that 3D printing technology can be used to create rockets.

Relativity Space’s ultimate goal is to 3D print over 95% of the rocket. 3D printing is a technique that creates a physical object from a computer model by printing many layers of material on top of each other.
