New Zealand basketball player Steven Adams has been injured and will miss the rest of the regular season for his team, the Memphis Grizzlies. The center hurt his right knee and had stem cell injections to help it heal. He won’t be able to play for at least four weeks, which means he won’t be able to take part in the games leading up to the regular season’s end on April 9th.

Memphis is currently ranked third in the Western Conference, but they’ve lost three games in a row. This injury adds to their troubles since Ja Morant is still suspended for something he did outside of basketball, and Brandon Clarke can’t play anymore because of an Achilles injury.

Adams has been averaging 8.6 points and 11.5 rebounds in 42 starts this season, his second with Memphis. He has played for three teams during his nine-plus years in the NBA: the Oklahoma City Thunder, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Grizzlies.

He is known for being great at offensive rebounds and has led the league in that category for the last two seasons.
The Grizzlies are second in the NBA in this area, largely because of Adams’ skills.
